Hahaha! The doctor initially thought I was a straightforward case. I told him that I never am and that he should be prepared for that. LOL. Today he has changed his mind and decided that I have "alot going on".
So, he ordered the MRI today since I'm not getting any better and more things than ever hurt in the lower leg/foot area.
Yep, I am never "uncomplicated". I have a series of things wrong with my foot and ankle. 21 days on crutches and I'm headed in for an MRI, so that we can see it all - all the gory details of this injury.
So far we know I have acute Peroneal tendinitis that caused the tendon to slip from it's normal groove and get caught on the cuboid foot bone. At that point a small chunk of bone tore away and left me with a cuboid avulsion fracture.
The doctor is also positive I have a fibula stress fracture - we just need to know the severity of it. 3 weeks later, I still have tibula and fibula pain along with peroneal and Achilles tendon fluid and swelling. The MRI will tell us the whole story and depending on the severity of the stress fracture will determine the course of treatment.
Now, they sent me home with 15 MRI films and would not tell me anything about what was wrong. the guy said...it's obvious, you'll figure it out. LOL. So, until I go back Wednesday morning I'm on my own to figure it out. Most all the films look unremarkable. However there are a few that i either don't know what they are or they look different than I think they should. So, here's your chance until Wednesday morning to have fun.
