We're decorated for a modified Christmas this year. We managed to dig out the main tree and ornaments. We also found the original small tree with homemade ornaments. Most of the nutcrackers are on display this year and the mantle is decorated. We opted not to freeze our bums off in the 20 degree cold, snow and wind to hang outdoor lights. We don't plan to be here next year so no use setting the next tenant up for a big light show.
The kids had fun decorating. It took several shifts over 2 days to get things done. But, things are festive and jolly for the next 4 weeks in our house. Quentin has been asking a lot of questions about Christmas. Being 4 years old I suspect that he knows there is a Christmas but doesn't really recall it. He asked Sophia if "Santa writes their names on the presents for them". He whispered it to her but I overheard. So cute!
No broken ornaments this year. Good fun was had by all Ubaydi children. Sophia got to be the angel handler this year and she did a great job placing the angel with a steady hand. I promised we'd save Gingerbread house making for the week the kids have off school before Christmas.
