Holiday Coif

A couple of us needed some holiday hair stylings.

Taking advantage of some time off school and the upcoming holidays we tried out a new salon in Downtown Rochester.

Ava went with a totally new sassy style. She can only get a significant haircut twice a year. Firstly, her naturally curly, fine hair doesn't "grow"...it only curls into another ringlet. Secondly, being a ballerina means she can only cut her hair immediately after a show. Her hair must grow out long enough between shows to be able to put it in a bun by the next performance. She was very excited for a change. She looks completely sassy now and matches her true personality.

Sophia had opted for her short bob before we left California. however, that blunt bob and perfect bangs requires frequent maintenance. She is so picky about her stylists and really has to establish a trust with them before she'll let them near her with scissors. She loved Kristin at Lush Salon & Spa. She discovered that she and Kristin have a lot in common...crafting, baking, fashion interests.

As a surprise Kristin added a few pieces of hair tinsel to Sophia's "do". Now, Sophia's hair matches her sparkly personality. The hair tinsel is slip knotted into place and lasts up to 3-4 weeks. It can be styled just like regular hair and the rainbow color will eventually fade to a silver as it is washed. Sophia practically floated out of the salon on her fancy hair do cloud nine.
