Isabella was invited to "train" with an all girls 9 year old soccer team. This is a club team that trains year-round and plays travel games in the spring. She's been involved in recreational soccer since she was 5 years old. She'll be 8 in August and was nervous about training with the 9 year olds. She gave herself a bit of a belly ache at first but soon she got in the groove. She cried int he end because she missed a shot and didn't want to let the team down. They're not "her team" but she still wanted the validation of the team I suposse. Overall, she did well for her first time training with them. The team has been trainig since March. Isabella will practice with them for the summer to see what she can do. hopefully, she 'll be invited to join the team come Spring. The good news is for the next 8 weeks she gets "free" training.
Here's some information regarding the "club" aspect.
The purpose of the FC Murrieta (Futbol Club Murrieta) Club Soccer Program is to allow highly-skilled recreational soccer players an opportunity to play club-level soccer, improve their skills, and do so at an affordable cost. Players will develop their technical skills, increase their tactical awareness of the game, and build up the conditioning necessary to compete at this level.
Our coaches use the State and National educational licensing programs as the foundation for developing players and teams. As with our recreational program, we encourage the use of good sportsmanship and positive attitudes.
