Ortho for a 6 year old?

Sophia had her 6 month check up with the dentist today.

At 6 years old she's got a referral to see an Orthodontist. Not sure what they will do since they don't normally "do" anything before permenent teeth are in...much less in Sophia's case where 6 teeth fell out 2 months ago and still haven't come in yet.

We really should have been walking out with a discount for her having only half her teeth cleaned not having a referal to an Orthodontist for "Abnormal Jaw Growth-Class 3 Skeletal Pattern".

Apparently, her lower jaw is growing faster than her upper jaw. She seems to have inhereted that bone structure from me.

We'll see what the Orthodontist has to say. But, I'm fairly certain Rami will not agree with any of it.

UPDATE: I talked to Sami today regarding the condition. He says it actually a pretty serious condition. They will probably do some X-rays and evaluations when she goes to the orthodontist and it's possible she'll need surgery to correct the problem when she's a teenager. For now they may try a chin and neck cup/head gear to retard the chin growth.

Oh Sophia, hang in there. I had some messed up teeth too, although this seems to be a more serious. I hope she is brave. Poor sweetie.

Funny about the half charge thing, so true right? They should charge by the tooth at that age!!! :)
