We know who our teachers are!

Little people were giddy with excitement tonight. The ohone started ringing off the hook at 7:00pm. You see...our school district is very proud of their "ed-connect" system where they can contact every parent int he school ditrict within 15 minutes. It's a computerized system where an administrator leaves a personalized message and then it is blasted to every parents home and cell phone (up to 5 numbers per child). The phone call barrage is followed pretty quickly by an email barrage as well. a typed transcript is also distributed to parent email accounts.

The flaw---well, the system can't quite recognize family distinctions. So, I get one phone call to my home and one to my cell as well as one email PER CHILD! So, now that i have 3 kids in school...I get 6 phone calls and 3 emails. AND, if it's an extrememly important matter such as a school lockdown then Rami also gets 3 phone calls on his cell and 3 emails to his work email address.

Anyhow, the computer called to tell us in 3 seperate phone calls who our teachers are for school starting next week.

Ava is of course getting Mrs. Ponce. Mrs. Ponce has been our kindergarten teacher. She says she loves the Ubaydi kids and it is her pleasure to be their teacher for their first foray into school.

Sophia will have Mrs. stone for 1st grade. This is not the same teacher Isabella had (we asked to not have the kids follow the same path) . Mrs. Stone is not much taller than Sophia. But, I hear she is a firm and fair teacher. I'm sure Sophia will be learning a lot this year.

Isabella will have Mrs. Booker for 3rd Grade. We don't know anything about Mrs. Booker. isabella is the trailblazer as usual. We looked her up. She appears to be around 29/30 years old and Isabella says "she's pretty".
