She's a Brickhouse

She's Mighty Mighty! That's the slogan from the Mesa Volleyball camp that Isabella attended this week.

She was nervous on Monday, having never played volleyball in her life. But, we had signed her up to try something new and the benefit was that this was something she could develop some upper body strength with. being a soccer player she doesn't get much use from her arms and upper body at all.

Monday, went really well...she loved it.

Tuesday, the smile started to disappear. She thought that after 4 hours of instruction she should be ready for the high school team. LOL, nothing like the pressure a 9 year old can put on themselves.

Wednesday, the PAIN set in. She woke up and could barely lift her arms from serving drills the day before.

Thursday, the smiles returned and things were fun again.

Friday, "Mom, that was sooo much fun". Of course anytime you get to practice your volleyball dives on a slip and slide outside it's going to be considered fun.

Way to go Iz...looks like I may get someone to follow my footsteps afterall. ;) Although, I must admit that after 10 hours of instruction she's already more talented at volleyball than I was in 3 years of being on the team in high school. Once again, my mini athletes continue to amaze me.
