At 6 years old Ava has entered the world of Couture. She had her yearly eye exam this past week. her eyes haven't changed much without glasses over the past year. we really need to work on that more. But, with glasses her left eye has made improvements. 20/300 unassisted, 20/70 after 3 months with glasses and now up to 20/50 with glasses. She has to be corrected to 20/40 to be legal to drive in 12 years.
She's been resistant to wearing her glasses the last few months because well...she's a girl and girls don't like the same accessories everyday, day in and day out. I promised her that she'd get a new pair if she promised to wear them. so now she has choices. She has 2 pairs she can switch back and forth and accessorize with.
Of course, she selected this new pair because there was a crown on the side. I asked her to get plastic frames instead of metal. Those metal frames aren't even a full year old and she's abused them so badly. You'd think for being such a prissy girl she'd be gentle with them but they've had the lenses replaced once (under warranty for scratches) and the frames adjusted at least 6 times. They tell me that the plastic frames won't bend so easily so they'll hold up better. hmm...we'll see I guess.
She's cute no matter what!
