Family Hike

Being the 4th of July we decided to head out into nature today. We've done a couple smaller hikes. Today, we headed out to the Santa Rosa Plateau and decided to be daring and go for a longer 2 mile hike. We saw a wide variety of plants, animals and insects. The kids of course love to talk about scat and point it out everywhere.

Today's inventory during our 2 hour hike:

Grasshopper spotted by Ava
Snake practically stepped on by Sophia and spotted by Rami
Fungus spotted by Isabella
Dragonflies mating spotted by mom
Various blue and orange butterflies practically following Ava everywhere she went
Rabbit spotted by mom

What a beautiful day out in the ecological preserve with the kids.
