Florida - birthplace of ME!

We decided last month to book a spur of the moment Spring Break trip to Florida. We had lots of hotel, plane, Disney and rental perks to use and it seemed like a good time.

So, we headed off on a jet plane with 4 kids. Once again they did so well...they have proven to us that they like to travel.

We started in Tampa for 4 days. Rami had some guys coming down from Michigan and he was hanging out with them doing the baseball, golf, basketball watching thing that dudes do. So, the kids and I booked a hotel in St. Pete and played in the sand at various beaches. Grandma came up to visit and stayed 2 nights. We went to the Florida Marine aquarium (home of Winter...the dolphin without a fin...she has a prosthetic fin). We ate outdoors with live music and enjoyed every bit of beach life. the kids declared I was finally the fun parent! We met up with my friend Shannon from Port St. Lucie (we grew up together, late elementary school through high school). Shannon has 2 boys the same ages as Ava and Q and everyone had fun together. Grandma and I took the kids to Lowry Park Zoo the next day and we once again hung out on the beach the 3rd day. We explored various beaches up and down from Clearwater to Treasure Island. We voted Clearwater as our favorite. On the last day in Tampa it rained in the afternoon. We spent the afternoon at MOSI (Museum of Science and Industry) and then we drove by the house that I lived in when I was born. Then it was off to dinner at Charley's Steak house...one of the top 10 steak houses in the United States. We headed up to Dunedin for Tigers spring training baseball against the Toronto Blue Jays on our way to Orlando on Monday.

The next few days we spent in Orlando. Of course, being so close to the house of the mouse we decided to visit Epcot and Magic Kingdom. But, not before we met at PF Changs for dinner with another friend from high school. Kristine and her husband Scott were wonderful and I'm so glad we got to spend some time together.

Tuesday we spent 14 hours exploring Epcot. We had some issues with transportation and food but once again the kids really were troopers and held it together for 14 hours of fun and lots of walking.

Wednesday was Rami's 39th birthday. We headed to the Magic Kingdom after a huge buffet breakfast at the hotel. There was a parade going on as soon as we walked down Main Street...of course, I took credit for arranging the whole thing for Rami's birthday (it was after all the "celebration" parade. We had a blast the whole entire day. Lots of fun shows, rides, parades (3 different parades) and good times.

We flew home yesterday and spent today recovering. Q declared yesterday that "I don't want to leave vacation! I like vacations!". I agree. I have over 1200 photos from the trip and I will spare you all the well document proof of our good times.
