Girl Scout Cookie Time

This year I only have one Girl Scout selling cookies. Of course, she thought that meant that since we sold 300 boxes combined last year that we'd sell 300 boxes just for her this year. But, living in Michigan has made the sale process harder. Here's some things we noticed:

1. Walking around the neighborhood in 20 degree temps is a lot more work than 70 degrees in California.

2. When you do go door to door the neighbors only seem to want to buy 1 box. In California, most people bought at least 2 (and a lot bought 3-4 boxes).

3. Thin Mints are not as popular here.

4. The sales pitch to put your Thin Mints in the freezer changes to leave them outside in the cold.

5. The boxes are smaller, there's less cookies and they are cheaper here. It's Little Brownie bakery instead of ABC bakery.

6. Sophia cannot pronounce Dulce de Leche to save her life.

7. Carmel Delights = Samonas. Peanut Butter Patties = Tagalongs, Peanut Butter Sandwitch = Do Si Dos.

Sophia managed to do pretty well. She ended up selling 66 boxes of cookies (of course 15 of those are ones we eat).
