It seems like Ava has been in our family forever. Not just a mere 7 years old. Ava brings light to our life everyday. She's such a wonderful sparkle with her sense of humor and her charm.
You really have to know Ava to get her sense of humor. She calls herself the prankster and she's very clever at pulling pranks that are hilarious and good natured. She's an accomplished ballerina at 7 years old and she has a passion for dance at such a young age...like nothing I've ever seen in my kids before. She is a tough cookie who was once referred to as "mighty mouse" by her teacher. She may be small but there's nothing that will stop this determined girl.
She "found her talent" this year and ran a 5K with me in May. I thought she'd have to walk alot but she ran the entire time and even giggled the whole way about how fun it was to run. She finished the 3.2 mile course in 35 minutes at 6 years old. Since that race she's gone on to run 3 additional 5K races in the last 6 months. Not too many adults can claim four 5K's in 6 months.
She's still very dedicated to ballet. In addition she is preforming extremely well in school and especially loves science and social studies. Since getting glasses last year to help correct her vision (she was diagnosed with Amblyopia last October and has 20/300 vision in her left eye) she has discovered a true love of reading. Her reading skills are fantastic and she is often found with her nose buried in a book.
Perhaps one of her greatest gifts is her ability to neutralize any situation and build foundations of peace amongst her peers. She really has a knack for encouraging cooperation...we sometimes refer to her as "Switzerland".
Happy birthday to my little Gothic Princess who keeps us on our toes.
