May Madness

May is Crazy! May is so busy it's hard to even have time to breathe. I dread May and look forward to May all int he same breath.

I've been busy. And, this week....even busier. every activity that the girls are involved in is doing something "extra" this week. So, here's a quick update of what news we've had and what news is coming.

1. Ava made the first round of cuts for the school talent show. She'll be representing 1st grade in her auditions on May 24th. She's singing Mylie Cyrus's "The Climb" while her friend Kalia plays the piano. If they make the next round of cuts the show will be on June 3rd.

2. All 4 kids auditioned for a web based television show a few weeks ago. The show's Executive Producer and creator called me last week because a Talent Agent would like to sign all 4 kids with her to do commercials. The show lady is also interested in Sophia and Isabella for her show. so far, that's all I've heard. We'll see.....

3. Isabella's recreational soccer team is having their playoffs this week. They won last night and if they win Wednesday night they progress to the Semi-Finals on Saturday morning.

4. Isabella's class is studying the California Gold Rush. They put on a performance last Friday for the school singing a song and doing a little ho down. Tomorrow I have to send sowbelly and beans to school...guess I better get cooking. How'd this turn into MY project?

5. I had gotten a Macy's gift card for my birthday. After spending a glorious night at the Hotel del Coronado I decided that after 10 years it was time for some new bedding. I delighted in sleeping in my own bed with my new feather comforter and feather pillows. I will be purchasing the feather mattress pad when the next coupon comes out.

6. It's 13 days until my first official 10K of the year. It'll be almost 6 months post injury and I'll be running The Storm baseball red, white and blue Memorial Day run. I set my personal record of 58 minutes at this race last year. I'm no where close to that time currently, but i hope with some sensible training over the next 13 days I can at least come close.

7. Quentin is doing fabulous in swim lessons. After 4 lessons he's already swimming underwater for about 5 feet. We call him aquaman and he likes that. Friend of Spiderman....

8. Quentin's birthday is this Sunday. Sophia is so excited that she has the opportunity to make his cake for him. She's got it all planned out and sent me for the ingredients today. It's a baseball field themed cake. Stay tuned. on Sunday we're headed to LA with 32 of our friends to watch the LA Dodgers take on the Detroit Tigers. Q loves baseball.

9. School is out on June 11th. I can't wait! Oh wait...the kids can't wait ;)

10. The club soccer team plays their first tournament on June 5th. Their beach tournament will be in Coronado and will kick off the season that they've been training hard for. They'll play 3 tourney's this summer and then the official season starts in September.
