Sophia's new bling

Sophia had her Pendulum Appliance installed today. It's hard to describe what is is. It's function is to move the upper molars backward in her jaw to allow the front teeth that are stuck to come down. The front teeth have been stuck now for almost 3 years. We've expanded her palette and we've moved her jaw forward and now it's time to shift those molars back so that these teeth can make their grand entrance.

The Pendulum is glued to her rear molars and is pressed up against her palette on the inside of her mouth. There are 2 wires on each side that are then glued to her other molars. I turn a key everyday for 7 days and the teeth move as I turn the key. We go back in a week to see progress. Once the Orthodontist sees that everything is where it needs to be we lock the keyhole and then let the palette "heal" from all the moving it just did. She will wear this appliance for 4 months or so.
