Today was opening day of the Spring recreational soccer season. Isabella is playing 2 levels up and is on a U12 team (co-ed ages 11-13). The first season of club has already paid off in her preformance. It's been a year since she played rec soccer so we had forgotten how disorganized the players are at the recreational level. WOW! She did great today. I'm a little nervous about her battling boys that are much bigger and more aggressive than her but she handles it well.
She had a lot of fun and got to play forward. Forward is her favorite position and she doesn't play it much on the club side because she's a left defender. But, man...she likes to score the goals. And, today she scored the first one for her team after being down 0-2 at the half. The coach moved her up from left defense to left forward and she worked her magic at the net. After that the team scored 2 more goals and ended up winning 3-2.
What a great first game of the season.
