Girl Scout International fair

Our troop attended the Girl Scout International fair again this year in celebration of the 84th World Thinking Day.

Our country...Austria. The girls really have a lot of fun at this every year. Ava and Isabella attended the event this year. Sophia is in a different troop and although she went with us last year she didn't make it this year.

This event is a lot of work by the troop. A month of planning and crafting and designing and researching and it comes down to the wire, but we ultimately made it again and it was a success. We researched our country. Made a display board. Made dolls in our likeness that were dressed in traditional Austrian costume. We made 186 beaded swaps that looked like Edelweiss flowers (resembling a Daisy flower as well). we made white aprons to wear over our dresses that would serve as both a costume and a swap holder. We practiced our facts for presentation and we served Strudel to our tourist "sisters".

200 girls locked in a room for 3 hours learning about other countries. Our troop consists of 24 girls (20 attended with the help of 7 adults).
