Today we were supposed to get the metal spacers on the bottom and the palette expander. Things didn't go as planned. The bottom spacer was digging into some soft tissue/gums and was painful. They decided to remake it to fit on a different set of bottom molars. They were able to install the upper palette expander. Sophia freaked out with the pain of the bottom teeth but she did surprisingly well for the palette expander part.
She is rather upset that she cannot talk normally and feels like she can't swallow her saliva (which of course is being produced in excess since her brain thinks there's food in there).
Her face lit up when they told her she could keep the teeth molds they had made and she was excited to go back to school to share those.

wow...what a lot for her to go through.
I know it isn't fun! We had the palette expander a few years back. She will get used to it.
She is a brave girl!
