In addition to our regularly scheduled programming we've passed the coughing crud around all 6 of us and some even have gotten it twice or managed to hang on to it in some loving contest of who can cough the most violently.
We have had 2 feet of snow over 4 days. We have had 4 days off school followed by 1 day back to school and then 2 snow days. Crazy! We have taken advantage of the time by being sick and recuperating. I was also very sick. Although, am relieved to report that it seems the dental problems with tooth #14 are now over. I have blogged several times about my tooth pain and the dentists in California being distracted by my medical anomalies and not addressing the major area of concern.
Well, last week Dr. Sami Ubaydi DDS, recognized the signs of a failed root canal done 4 years ago within 15 minutes. He started me on pain killers and antibiotics but it was all too late. After 2 days of writhing in pain weathering out the blizzard of 2011 I returned to Dr. Ubaydi and the most realistic choice he could give the patient who is his family member sitting int he chair was let's just pull it, I'm fairly sure it's what I think it is. 3 minutes later his suspicions were confirmed and I was out of pain. The root canal preformed 4 years ago went too far and the rod pierced the apex end of the tooth root. So, he said, i really was not dellussional when I told them I still had pain. And, as a matter of fact the infection that had developed had penetrated my sinus cavity and was "gross". I'll have to have a dental implant on that tooth in the next 6 months (which scares me) but overall I'm happy that old #14 is gone. I'm just hoping we can save #13 as well. The tooth next door had started to succumb to the lasting infection and we're hoping that we can save it from the fate of it's neighbor.
Isabella started her first official soccer season here in Michigan. we've met with her coach and we're very pleased with her current progress and level of training. She has identified goals that will not only help her in soccer but also in life. And, isn't that what we've been hoping to attain from soccer all along?!
Sophia officially started piano lessons this past week and we're very excited that she is learning something so beautiful.
Ava has decided to try out for a local production of Alice in Wonderland. Her love of being on stage is taking her new places.
Quentin is doing so well in learning to ice skate. His coaches are continually impressed with his abilities and motivation. He's excited to pass all 3 learn to skate levels by Spring so that he can start Hockey in the Fall. He also starts Kindergarten in the Fall. He tells me he's a little bit nervous about it because he doesn't know math.
Through it all we have managed 2 excursions a month to house hunt. We have looked at nearly every home on the market in our desired range and we can pretty much walk in and tell you how much the house will actually close for. We've been correct in our pricing at least 3 times now. On 3 houses we liked but found too early in our search.
