A New Soccer Star

Q was born a mere 4 days after the end of our first ever soccer season with the girls here in Southern California. From an early age he would yell "put me in coach" when we were at games with his older sisters. He has practiced kicking a soccer ball just as he has playing with footballs, basketballs and baseballs. For 4 years he has patiently waited for his turn on the turf. For the last year he has proudly worn the hand me down soccer gear he has received. Soccer T-shirts paired with soccer shorts and his indoor Umbro cleats are his favorite outfit!

He has watched at tournaments and games and he never complained because he knew that the Fall season after he turned 4 it would be his turn.

He was so pumped up yesterday for his first ever practice with the Blue Dolphins MYSL u-5 micro team.

He didn't care that it was 101 degrees. With his new cleats and his new soccer socks pulled up to his hips he was ready!

He was happy out there kicking the ball with his friends and learning something new. And, we learned that he's dual footed. He can kick with both his right and his left foot. A little sports ambidexterity-cool! Isabella is our lefty and a left footed kicker who is just now discovering she can also kick with her right foot with accuracy and power. We're excited that Q is already dual footed at 4 years old.

Let's go Blue Dolphins! First game on September 11th...stay tuned.
