The race in Playa del Rey had professional sports photographers on the course that were capturing the action. I am always somewhat apprehensive about these photographers. While, I'd like to know what i look like running...I also know that running is a sport where you don't always look good. Your muscles are actively engaged and the camera can freeze you in an awkward position that a normal person would not even register with their eye.
Here's my professional race pictures. http://www.brightroom.com/view_user_event.asp?EVENTID=47495&BIB=805&S=230&PWD=
When I look at these I can see the points where I'm tired, I'm cranky, I'm not digging stepping over cups that people are throwing down after a water station and you can see me sprinting at the finish line. You can tell I'm not happy about the guy in the green shirt passing me in the last leg of the race. I think these pictures tell a nice story. But, I'm not sure I was to pay $50.00 for that story. I am bummed that the photos cost so much.
