When we did our landscaping 2 years ago we tried to save money by not replacing the grass or plantings in the rear yard. Well, that lasted 2 years. It was dead and tired looking after being cooked by 8 hours of 100 degree summer sun for 3 years.
My mother's day present (and Rami's father's day present) was new grass and shrubs to accent the yard.
Now, the front and rear yards match and it really is pleasant to be in the yard again.
Q was IN LOVE with the landscaper and all the toys (um, tools) he brought today. A variety of large semi-trucks to small pick up trucks, shovels, forklifts, jackhammers, sod cutting machines...all a boy could ask for.
The garden is once again an enjoyable place.
