Club Soccer

SOOOOOOOO......
We had pretty much decided that although we know that Isabella is good at soccer we were just going to continue to let her grow in the U8 Recreational division of the league. For those avid readers of my blog, you will remember that she trained with the club teams last summer and she had just turned 8 while the rest of the girls on the team were at least 10 years old. And, although she could keep up with their soccer skills she felt like she wasn't part of the group because she didn't "get" their humor, chats, etc.
Rami and I decided that if she wasn't comfortable with the team then she'd get burnt out faster and that it wasn't worth it because we want her to stick with soccer through Middle School and maybe High School.
Well, today we got a phone call from the club team president asking us to make sure we brought her to the try outs next weekend. We feel like if they are actively recruiting her then she should at least give it a shot. We did request that if they selected her for a team this year then she MUST be on an age appropriate team, rather than playing by skill.
So much for my wind down that I thought was going to happen. Unfortunately for me this will add complexity to my schedule. Isabella is already committed to her U8 rec team that Rami coaches. So, this club team will mean "extra". Usually club teams practice 2 nights a week for 1.5 hours each. Their games start in the summer and are tournament style and they will have to travel to the games, usually all around Southern California.
In the mean time we will still have to retain our other commitments as well. Sophia and Ava also play soccer. Ava starts recital training for ballet this month. And all 3 girls are actively involved in their Girl Scout troops.
Here we go......

This is very cool! Way to go Isabella! When they are good at something, than you gotta let them shine! :)
