This move is going a lot faster than I had thought. Yes, we've known for 8 weeks now and 8 weeks is plenty of time to move a family. But, as of 2 weeks ago we didn't even have a move coordinator or any information. Then in one weeks time we seriously pushed the ball that was generally moving slow straight down the hill.

This past Thursday was a stressful day. We woke up feeling good about a long distance house hunting trip. We knew we were going to get a lease on our number 1 choice in houses. Then within an hour it all went downhill. Our number one choice had been chosen by someone else who presented an offer at 10:30pm the night before. What an extreme bummer.

So, before all our hard work in house hunting went completely down the drain we made an offer on our second choice in houses. That triggered a landslide of events. And, now we have a move date set for September 15th. Just 11 days from now. In less than 2 weeks the North American Van lines truck will pull up to our home and they'll begin the packing and loading process. Not being a clutter bug they will have everything done and on the truck with the doors closed by Tuesday night.

The kids and I will sleep on the floor with borrowed sleeping bags and then a limo will pick us up and take us to the airport. We'll arrive in MI just after dinner.

I will let the kids adjust to the new time zone and get reacquainted with their grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins for a few days and then it's back to school on September 20th (just 10 days into the MI school year...after these girls have already been in school for a month here in Cali).

The truck will arrive with our household goods on September 21st. We'll be officially moved in.

Tons of work between now and then. Some days my head just plain hurts from everything working in my brain. And, most evenings I am just plain exhausted and ready for bed.
