Palm Desert Weekend Vacation

We decided to celebrate the end of school with a relaxing weekend in Palm Desert. The sun has been an eleusive thing here in Murrieta for over 2 weeks now and it was cold and cloudy by So Cal standards. So, off to The Enclaves of Shadow ridge we went. A little over an hour drive to the East and just as we passed Mount san Jacinto the clouds parted and it was clear, blue skies and sunshine. The desert was beautiful and we got straight to work having fun. We visited the Living Desert Gardens and zoo and saw some wonderful animals up close while we hiked the park. after the hike we were hot, hungry and thirsty. So we headed back to the resort for swimming and lunch by the pool. The kids had a blast soaking int he pools and water fountains for 3 hours. After their exhausting day we had bbq for dinner and then enjoyed a movie at the resort theater (Kung Fu Panda) which made me promptly fall asleep.

We woke up this morning. I went on a fabulously scenic 2 mile run through the property and then we had breakfast on the balcony overlooking the gold course fairways. After breakfast we headed to the pool for a morning of fun before shopping at the outlets.

Q ended up having an allergic reastion to something (sunscreen we suspect) and we left slightly earlier than planned and did not stop at the cabazon outlets on the way home. We made it home in record time. And, we have determined that Quentin must be allergic to any California destination that is more than one hour away (remember our Disneyland trip that was complete with Disney 911 and a trip tot he hospital?).

Overall it was still a fun vacation and Quentin has asked all day when we are going to go back to our "apartment".
