I went for a 5K and ended up running a 10K

I decided last week to run a 5K on memorial Day. I debated whether to run a 5K or a 10K and decided on the 5K because I was concerned it would be hot and I planned to have the kids there and I did just run my first 10K ever 2 weeks ago.

But, today when i got to the stadium under cloud cover and a beautiful running morning I changed my mind and went for the glory of the 10K. I was happy it was flat and I ran the entire thing without stopping. I did it in 58 minutes 9the first 5K portion I finished in 27 minutes) which is my fastest time ever. My average speed was 6.3 mph and I felt great.

The girls ran the 1/2 mile kids fun run afterwards and they did really great too. We had a fun morning running together.
