All Extreme Sunday

We had a busy day that included temperatures to the extreme. We started our morning on a cloudy beach in Oceanside. Isabella's club soccer team needed to practice once in the sand before the beach tournament in 2 weeks. We spent an hour and a half playing a scrimmage on the sand. It was cold and cloudy until 15 minutes before the scrimmage ended. The girls really had fun playing on sand and what a work out for them all. It's definitely more challenging to run on the sand and pull your feet up to kick the ball and still somehow manage to not have sand kicked in your eyes.

After the practice was over we headed out to Escondido for our friend Bailey's birthday party at an indoor ice rink. Wow! What a great time all the kids had. This was Quentin's first time skating and we were not planning on having him skate at all because I have never skated and it's hard to manage 4 kids on the ice with one adult. However, Quentin would not be denied...he wanted to skate and wasn't taking no for an answer. They had ez-skaters there that the little kids can push on the ice. So, we gave it a try and he loved it. By the end of the session Isabella and Sophia were skating on their own without holding the walls or people (this was there second time ever skating) and Sophia was even doing "spins". Ava and Brooke just had fun being pushed around in one ez-skater by the dads. Quentin had a little rhythm going and was running and then gliding on the ez-skater. Good times, pizza and ice cream cake..YUM!
