We had a blast in Hollywood today. We started out at 7:30am for breakfast with our friends the Husson's in Manhattan Beach. They have a son who is 6 months younger than Q. Michael loved having the Ubaydi kids at his house for a few minutes. The Husson's have a beautiful house just minutes from the beach. We went down to the pier and had bagels and coffee on the Manhattan Beach Boardwalk. It was a wonderfully warm 80 degrees today (unseasonably warm).
Then it was off to West Hollywood to meet Auntie Jen and Mr. Nate. We drove through the Sunset Strip on our way there. We met at the Kodak Theater complex on Hollywood Blvd & Highland. Our first stop was a great photo op view of the Hollywood Sign. Then we made our way outside to the front of the complex and the Walk of Fame. I did end up walking with my head down most of the way because I wanted to see as many stars on the walk as possible. It wasn't that busy out on the street when we got there so it was mostly relaxing corralling 4 young kids on a bustling street. We made our way down to Mann's Chinese Theater and explored the hand and footprints in the cement there. The kids all found someone who either looked like them or was their size. It was fun watching them and listening to them ask us who the actors were and what movies they were in. Some of the older actors were harder to explain to them. LOL!
Then we headed East to the Museums. We saw Ripley's Believe it or NOT (but didn't go in), Guinness World Records. Which was interesting but we noticed that their facts hadn't been updated since about 2000. They didn't have any actual displays of artifacts there just pictures and descriptions and a few exhibits that were interactive. For an extra $2 we also got a ticket to the Wax Museum so we walked across the street for that. having already seen the wax museum in Las Vegas I would say that the Hollywood one is weird because the wax doesn't look at all like the actors and that unlike Vegas you couldn't get close to the statues. The most interesting displays were the horror film ones (which we didn't take the kids in to see) and the ones from the old western films and 70s TV shows.
We headed back West up Hollywood Blvd and made our way to Johnny Rockets for lunch. YUM! Then we found a great spot in the center of the mall area to open Christmas and Birthday presents from Auntie Jen, to Auntie Jen and to Sophia. Jen and Sophia both got matching Snuggies.
Jennifer and Nate left and we continued through the mall area to the entrance of the Kodak Theater and down the steps to street level. It's hard to see on TV but the actors actually walk through a mall with stores in order to get into the theater on their way up the red carpet. We headed back outside and crossed Hollywood Blvd. again to the El Capitan Theater and took some pictures from there. The kids picked their souvenirs and we headed to the car. By this point everyone was crying because they were tired and Q actually fell asleep before we even got to Santa Monica Blvd. We headed back West to find Rodeo Drive. Beverly Hills was breathtakingly beautiful and Rodeo Drive is actually a lot smaller of a street than I had imagined. We saw one paparazzo on the corner setting up his camera for something. We cruised to the end of the drive which dead-ended at the Regent Beverly Wilshire (from Pretty Woman fame) and we headed on back to home.

that sounds like so much fun!
What an awesome day! Looks like everyone enjoyed it. Glad the kids weren't too traumatized to enjoy themselves. ;-)
