All 3 girls are in Girl Scouts. Each year they are given the challenge to sell 150 boxes of cookies per girl. That would be easily met in this family IF we only had one girl selling. The past two years we've easily sold 150 boxes to out family and friends. However, each girl is given that challenge. 450 boxes for one family to sell...without the assistance of dad selling at work and mom not working, is tough! Rami can't sell at work because of his company anti-solicitation rules and him being "the boss" and I can't sell at work, because well...I am my only employee. :) And trust me I buy enough cookies myself to feed an office.
This year the Girl Scouts have decided to eliminate a step in the cookies selling process. We started the sale today with cookies in hand. This is a blessing and a curse. I had to decide the mix of cookies each girl would realistically sell without actually selling any cookies. I had to go pick up 189 boxes of cookies at two separate houses (we're in 2 troops between 3 girls) and I had to unload said cookies in my office...trying not to eat any while I type.
The girls were excited to start work this morning...the first day of the sale. They each made signs to market their cookies and their troop. They set up at table in our driveway at 10am and they put on their uniforms. We weren't sure how it was going to go. But, within an hour we had sold 36 boxes of cookies. We took the wagon to our immediate neighbors and another 36 boxes disappeared. Oh NO! We are seriously short on Thin Mints.
We picked up more cookies from the troop leaders and then we headed back out in our cookie mobile(aka minivan) and hit up a couple of our regular customers. The girls got mad at me because for each stop we made I talked to my friends for 20 minutes. At the end of the day after 6 hours we had sold 109 boxes of cookies. Shew.
